Cherry Still Life

$1,800.00

Oil still life on hand-stretched and gessoed canvas.

In “Cherry,” I explore nostalgia, symbolism, and personal identity through a carefully arranged still life. Each object carries meaning– some personal, some universal. The “Cherry” mug, a vessel for creativity, holds an assortment of pencils and brushes, representing artistic expression and the tools of my craft. The metallic balloon dog reflects playfulness and childhood memories, its reflective surface inviting the viewer to see themselves within the piece, a nod to the artist Jeff Koons.

A red paintbrush extends beyond the canvas, leading the eye toward a wooden tag with cherries and the Pacha logo, an unexpected nod to the famed Ibiza nightclub, blending energy of nightlife with the introspection of creativity. This inclusion hints at the duality within a creative life – discipline and spontaneity, solitude and vibrant experience. Alongside it, an Evil Eye charm rests nearby, a talisman of protection and cultural significance. These objects are intentionally placed as relics of moments lived, of ideas formed in between work and play. And these elements combine to tell a story– one of artistic passion, personal history, and a deep connection to the objects that shape our identities.

By portraying this intimate workspace, I invite viewers to consider the objects in their own creative sanctuaries– how the smallest details, the most unexpected artifacts, can shape and inspire our personal narratives. This painting isn’t just a still life; it’s a snapshot of an artist’s world, where memory, inspiration, and everyday life intertwine.
